Are there North American landrace strains?
Compared to Africa, Asia, and Latin America, wild North American landrace strains are much harder to pin down. Landrace indica strains developed in the harsher, cooler mountain climates of Central Asia. Short growing seasons meant these plants needed to mature quickly, so they evolved into shorter, bushier structures with dense buds and thick resin production designed to protect the plant from cold and wind.
